Inspire Video Released, System Goes Live

(Rock County, WI) By James Otterstein, Media Contact

Rock County 5.0 released an Inspire Rock County promotional video during today’s Regional Business Expo, officially signally that the web-based career preparation and readiness platform is available for public use. By integrating career development tools, social media elements and workforce data into a seamless system, job creators, students, educators and parents can connect efficiently – as well as effectively – through the Inspire system. This system, which is powered by a licensed product called Career Cruising, is designed according to recognized career cluster and pathway specifications.

Publicly announced six months ago, the Inspire project represents a collaborative talent development and employment engagement commitment between Rock County 5.0, the Southwest Workforce Development Board, the K-16 education system and the County’s business community. To date, the level of Inspire exposure / outreach and related support has been extremely positive. Specifically:

  • Over 50 companies throughout Rock County, representing various industry clusters, geographies and company ownership structures, have committed to participate in the Inspire Rock County project.
  • Nearly 130 work-based learning activities have been entered into the system.
  • Approximately 50 volunteers have stepped forward to serve as virtual career coaches.
  • Over 200 K-16 staff members, ranging from guidance counselors to career / technical education instructors, have been trained in this new career preparation and readiness platform. A number of these staff piloted the Inspire system during the summer months, as well.

In the coming weeks and months, the utilization and integration of this new career development platform into student academic and/or career planning and related programming is expected to increase, accordingly. During this same time frame, the project’s sponsors will continue forward with their business and volunteer recruitment efforts.
