Several area businesses, through their philanthropic arms, provided contributions this quarter to support H.S. and higher education offerings.

Grainger donated $10,000 in support of Blackhawk Technical College’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, which opened last August. During the last six months, the Grainger Foundation has contributed a total of $30,000 to the College.

HUFCOR donated $5,000 to support the College’s Foundation, which provides emergency assistance to offset the costs associated with student testing, transportation, housing and/or related academic needs.

Blain Supply, through its “Tools For Schools” program, donated three refurbished automotive transmission flushing machines to the Janesville School District. Students at Craig and Parker High Schools’ automotive lab have begun studying how to use the new transmission flushing machines. Next fall, the high school will work the equipment into its curriculum.
